Why Re-Levelling Your Club’s Bowling Green Edges is Important

Your bowling green may be showing the signs of wear and tear from extensive use by the end of this season and you will need to have it back in shape for next year.

Bowling green edges are an area that often suffer in particular and we appreciate they do have a tendency to fall away, even with careful management.

Your bowling green edge may have become damaged as people step onto the green and standing around the edges. This may be compounded by a lack of support at the green edge or existing support structures deteriorating.

How Can STS Help?

Our bowling green team have over 30 years of experience and have undertaken countless bowling green re-levelling projects.

Before we carry out any work we will visit your club and carry out a full assessment of your green to ensure we understand its condition and deliver exactly what your club needs.

Our bowling green re-levelling process:

  • Remove existing turf, using a turf cutter round the edges of the bowling green. Store existing turf for re-use.
  • Supply and install timber edging along the route of the existing ditch line, bringing it up to the required level.
  • Re-install existing turf to correct levels using Root Zone Mix, and supplying new turf only where necessary to blend in with the existing playing surface.
  • Top Dress the edges with a light top-dressing.

Our bowling green team can also provide ongoing maintenance support and advice if you don’t have the time or resources to do so yourself.

To ensure your club’s bowling green is quickly back in fantastic condition after what is sure to be a busy 2016 season get in touch to arrange a free, no obligation consultation and quote.
